Welcome to Moerlina Playgroup
Moerlina Playgroup gives your child their first taste of our progressive, child-centred approach to learning. Set within the grounds of Moerlina School, playgroup is a relaxed, social start to a much longer journey. Children explore, play and connect with others in an environment designed for curiosity and connection. We value long-term relationships with families, and parents and carers are welcome to stay, chat and get to know the Moerlina community. It’s also a wonderful opportunity for dads and grandparents to share in the messy, joyful experiences that bring people together.
Fostering curiosity and agency
Playgroup provides a rich environment for children to experience the joy of learning while developing language, autonomy, confidence and independence. Early childhood is an extraordinary phase of life, when children are discovering and absorbing the world around them. We honour this stage by giving children the freedom and unhurried time to expand their curiosity and wonder through exploration, play and discovery.
A place to explore
Our playgroup is carefully designed to be warm, inviting, and interactive. The learning environment is structured to evoke curiosity and connection. Each day has a pattern and predictable rhythm that children and families become familiar with. This rhythm creates a calm environment which support the development of their regulation and collaboration skills. Time is shared between indoor and outdoor spaces, with opportunities for imaginative, creative, sensory and nature-based play.
Friday Session Times
9:30am to 11:30am, ages 0 to 4 years
Playgroup runs during Moerlina School terms and is closed during school holidays. Term dates are available here.

Fees
$10 per child per week, insurance included.
